Lynn Ruggieri

Lynn Ruggieri is a dual citizen of Italy and the U.S. and splits her time between the two countries, residing in Perugia for the last 10 years. Lynn has been leading trips to the UK for the last 20 years. Her passion and enthusiasm will make for an unforgettable experience.

Knitting in England and Scotland 

We will attend the Unravel Yarn Festival in Farnham Maltings. It is the largest independent yarn festival in southeast England. The festival features a packed program of bookable workshops, talks, exhibitions and a diverse marketplace of exhibitors from the UK and beyond.

Thursday 2/11/27 –London (5 nights)

Welcome to England! Bus from airport to hotel for the group. Beautiful Knitters Yarn shop, Liberty London and time exploring London. Evening - Dinner on own

Friday 2/12/27 – London 

Unravel Yarn Festival - Held every February, the renowned festival runs over three days and features a packed program of bookable workshops, talks, exhibitions and a diverse marketplace of exhibitors from across the UK and beyond. Late Afternoon - Private Tea Bus Tour of London, Meals included Breakfast, Lunch on the Tea Bus

Saturday 2/13/27 - London

Unravel Yarn Festival - Held every February, the renowned festival runs over three days and features a packed program of bookable workshops, talks, exhibitions and a diverse marketplace of exhibitors from across the UK and beyond. Meals included - Breakfast Dinner on own.

Sunday 2/14/27 - Stonehenge and Bath

Day trip filled with history. Enjoy spectacular views of rolling hills and sheep as we travel to Stonehenge through the English countryside. See the ancient mystery of Stonehenge before we travel the scenic landscape to picturesque Bath. Bath is known for its Roman Baths, the Jane Austen Center, as well as many shops, restaurants and cultural events. Netflix tv show, Bridgerton’s modiste was filmed in Bath. Option for Lunch and knitting in a British pub. Afternoon exploring Bath on your own. Visit Yarn Story yarn store, shopping, sights. Meals included – Breakfast and Dinner.

Monday 2/15/27 - Windsor Castle

Day trip to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. It has since been the home of 40 monarchs. We will also spend some time exploring the quaint shops and pubs of Windsor. Meals included – Breakfast and Dinner.

Tuesday 2/16/27 – Edinburgh Scotland

Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes on our journey to Edinburgh by train. Bus ride to Radical Weavers, Stirling. Participants have the chance to connect with local traditions, witnessing the art of weaving in action and gaining insight into its historical and cultural importance. Guided by skilled artisans, visitors can actively participate, weaving their own creations and gaining a deeper appreciation for the craft’s intricacies. At the studio we will take a weaving workshop and have individual mini looms to design and create our own Scottish tartan to take home while enjoying a lunch of finger sandwiches. Meals - Breakfast and lunch

Wednesday 2/17/27 - Edinburgh Scotland

We will be take a bus to Di Gilpin for a workshop on the history of English Gansey knitting and create our own design up early to head to Scotland, taking a scenic route with stops along the way. Bus trip back to Edinburgh. Meals included - Breakfast and Dinner.

Thursday 2/18/27 - Edinburgh Scotland

Explore Edinburgh. Some of the earliest mills were in Scotland, and this area became a center for production of high quality woolen cloth. At the Scottish Textile Showcase, you will hear about the makers, the craft, how wool gets made, what inspires designs, and a tour of the showroom. Visit Tron Kirk Market, a 17th-century church in the Royal Mile, with artists and designers selling goods. Visit Edinburgh Castle, a historic castle standing on Castle Rock, with a long history as a royal residence, military garrison, prison and fortress. Special visit to Ginger Twist yarn shop for shopping. Meals included - Breakfast and Dinner.

Friday 2/19/27 - Flight home departing Scotland

Sad that we are leaving our fun adventures, but happy we explored wonderful and fiber-filled places, with new friends, making lifelong memories.
